The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up.” This is the clearest biblical foundation for prayer offered for healing of body and soul.
Why Prayer
The team at St. Patrick’s Parish believes prayer is not an optional activity added to the Church’s mission. Prayer belongs at the heart of Christ’s ministry and the Church’s apostolic tradition. Jesus healed the sick, forgave sins, and entrusted His disciples with a ministry of healing; the Church continues this mission through intercessory prayer, the Sacrament of Anointing, pastoral care, and compassionate accompaniment.
Our committed prayer team allows the Christian community to stand faithfully with people who are suffering, asking God for healing of body, soul, and spirit while offering hope, dignity, and love. Such prayer does not promise that every illness will be physically removed, nor does it replace medical treatment; the Church affirms both divine healing and appropriate natural means, including medicine. Even when physical healing does not occur as requested, prayer can bring forgiveness, peace, courage, spiritual renewal, reconciliation, and the grace to unite suffering with Christ. Investing in prayer is our belief in the whole person and in the Church’s vocation to make Christ’s healing presence visible among the sick, wounded, and burdened.

How can we pray for you?
Pray without ceasing.
